..."take complete control of
customer artwork generation and
submission for right-first-time production"
artwork issues
No matter how well file submission rules are prepared there's always going
to be new problems never seen before. Unfortunately, these only become
apparent as they happen, leaving you and your customers open to costly
rework and financial loss.
pre-flight to the rescue
Pre-flight software identifies many common problems, but some slip through
because desktop pre-flight software
only reads header file information not actual file data. Your production
RIP interprets actual file data, so this approach may perform well, but
in reality leaves a gap just waiting for a file problem to surprise both
you and your customers.
approved formats
Standardising on open, industry-approved file formats such as the ANSI
and ISO certified PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 is a step forward. But even these
established standards can be difficult to enforce and can allow too much
flexibility in setting output parameters on the part of the file creator.
simply lock and load
Using award-winning file pre-flight, creation and optimisation technology,
Dalim Software have introduced SWiNG ViSA - a server application for installation
at a customer site. Installing a SWiNG ViSA server means your customers
are free to concentrate on producing work, leaving the technical know-how
required to create print-predictable files to you. Any file output options
YOU want your customer to have access to can be locked directly into the
Macintosh "Print" dialogue box or alternatively assigned to
desktop "Hot Folders".
transparent control
No "Job Option" file to remember to use, No "Profiles"
to load, No "Costly Last-minute Reworks" of failed files. In
fact, the only option your customer needs to remember to set is the virtual
printer or hot folder. The list of options in the "Print" dialogue box
can be as simple or as complex as required. You can even re-name the settings
as they appear in the Macintosh "Print" dialogue box... SWiNG ViSA takes
care of the rest. SWiNG ViSA goes further than just creating and transmitting
print-ready files. Using the same "Print" dialogue box, the selected output
parameters can be carried within the PPD (PostScript Printer Description)
file. At the point of transmission, this information is read by the "transmit"
tool, which directs each file to a specific input folder on your production
server.
