  page assembly and imaging

LiTHO is a high end, high quality, image retouching and page assembly software package. It is a powerful combination of an Illustration, Page Make-up, Retouch and TRAPPING application. There is no need to shift from one application to the next for performing various tasks. It enables operators to produce stunning results with maximum productivity, and is particularly well suited for handling the requirements of the printing industry.

Auto Trapping
LiTHO's autotrapping features offers one of the best object-oriented trapping solutions on the market. All commonly used trapping scenarios can be easily implemented, not limited by object type or number of colors. Even specific trap requirements such as "keep away" traps of substrate white for silk screening or metallic colors are easily setup.

Job Management
The JobManagement module of the Litho package supports Input and Output of a number of formats, including PostScript level 1 to 3, PDF 1.3, Photoshop native, TIFF, TIFF-IT8, TIFF-IT/P1, DCS 1.0 and 2.0, Scitex Native, Scitex Handshake and Extended Handshake. Output allows conversion into various file formats, including Postscript level 1 to 3, PDF 1.3, TIFF, TIFF-IT8, TIFF-IT/P1, JPEG, Photoshop native, Illustrator native, DCS 1.0 and 2.0, Scitex Handshake and Extended Handshake.

LiTHO64
LiTHO64 is designed for high content applications where individual files sizes regularly exceed 4GB, commonly experienced, for example, within the web, security and cartographic printing sectors. LiTHO64 provides outstanding performance and the ability to work on files of virtually unlimited size (up to 9 million terabytes, which translates as a 300 dpi image at 800m x 800m!). Consequently large files, such as those generated by 16-page, 24-page, 32-page forms and multi-layer map files, can be handled with ease and opened at speed to allow high-resolution viewing and even retouching.

OPI support
DALiM LiTHO supports all popular OPI solutions such as Xinet FullPress and Helios Ethershare OPI. Pages can be overfilled or imposed without having to load the high-resolution image data.OPI supports all major image formats such as TIFF and EPS. Even the clipping paths in EPS data are kept.DALiM LiTHO supports OPI functions in both PostScript and PDF workflows.

Using DALiM LiTHO, the user can decide at what stage the image exchange is to take place, whether at the time of PostScript or PDF input into DALiM LiTHO or at the RIP stage when printing to a PostScript output device.

The most fully-featured PDF editor in the industry
DALiM LiTHO includes a highly-developed PDF input that contains all the information from the original document as a unit. The PDF data is fully editable within a DALiM LiTHO page. Elements that form a gradient are instantly recognised when the PostScript or PDF data is imported, and can be converted to DALiM gradients or CT images.

This is particularly important when importing PDF data, since it is not possible to produce a clean encoding of gradient elements with the older PDF standards.

DALiM LiTHO's ability to recognise gradients of this kind and to convert them correctly means a significant improvement in PDF-supported work processes. Naturally, DALiM LiTHO also has a clean
PDF output.

Automation of workflow
All input/output operations can be completely automated using Dalim Software’s TWIST application. Recurring processes such as importing pages and images, proof creation, exposure and data output can be handled by TWIST from the production office, for example, without the operator having to intervene.

Supported data formats
Images can be exported as CreoScitex Handshake or CreoScitex Native. FLYT data (CreoScitex page format) can be imported and exported. TIFF/IT P1 offers the CT/LW output. Other data set formats supported by DALiM LiTHO include CreoScitex-CT & LW, Hell, Crosfield, Screen, DDES, CT2T, OHIO, AIF and PostScript, Photoshop Native and Illustrator Native.
