GMG ColorProof – an award-winning proofing solution
In a number of tests on the best-known products available worldwide, GMG’s proofing solution – ColorProof – consistently
achieves the top scores. It has established itself as the market-leading solution for professional proofing. The latest version of the
product – GMG ColorProof o4 – continues this tradition, redefining the standard.

Professional tools for the professional user
GMG ColorProof o4 consists of the GMG ColorEngine, the GMG ProfileEditor and SpotColor Editor, the GMG RIP Server, and
output modules for a wide range of output devices. The central element in the software is the unique “4-D Color Transformation
Engine”, which guarantees the best possible quality and color accuracy when producing contract proofs with a variety of output
devices. The system can be calibrated against all standard color charts using a spectrophotometer. Device-independent color
profiles are stored for specific printer families. Together with a set of highly developed linearization tools, this makes the system
particularly well suited for remote proofing applications. GMG ColorProof o4 supports all currently available spot color systems
(with up to 64 individual color channels per image), and is compatible with standard ICC profiles, which can be combined with
GMG device link profiles.

New functionality in GMG ColorProof o4
GMG ColorProof o4 includes new, simplified installation tools, allowing users to quickly produce great looking proofs right out of
the box. When standard profiles are used, for example, users need only run a single printer calibration process. This process
ensures that identical results can be achieved using different models within a particular family of printers. The redesigned user
interface makes navigating in GMG ColorProof more intuitive, enabling users to get up to speed even more quickly. Within the
GMG ProfileEditor, the selective correction functions have been improved, as have the processes for reading color values from
spectrophotometers.

Support for test charts is another new feature within the GMG SpotColor Editor, as is the inclusion of the official Pantone® Library.
The new PrinterCalibration Wizard makes it much easier to calibrate output devices without using the ProfileEditor. A license for
the Fogra Media Wedge is also included with GMG ColorProof o4.
GMG ColorProof o4 is the most cost-effective, high-end proofing solution on the market. It meets all contract proofing
requirements, including color accuracy and repeatability.

GMG DotProof for accurate halftone proofs
The GMG DotProof® option allows users to create halftone proofs by printing color-accurate 1-bit TIFF data from the imagesetter
or CTP RIP while retaining the original screened information. This allows early detection of press artifacts that are only visible with

halftone proofs, such as moiré or trapping errors. DotProof is especially useful for CTP workflows, since potential problems can
be identified before the plates are actually set up. This leads to both time and material savings.
GMG FileOut option for CMYK-CMYK' conversions
The GMG FileOut module allows a CMYK color space to be converted to another CMYK color space while maintaining the
integrity of the black channel. Offset data, for example, can be converted automatically into gravure data.
