Meet Up at MagNet Square
This year MagNet brings all off-session activity into one dynamic space—MagNet Square, located in Courtyard Hall. This includes the ever-popular MagNet Marketplace, where you can check out the latest technologies, products and market research, and discover how to harness these advancements to connect with your readers.
Join friends and colleagues in the Square for casual breakfast, lunch and coffee break service. Check your email, hold meetings and catch up with friends. And while you charge up, so can your devices at convenient charging stations.
At lunch, stop by for an appointment with the Social Media Doctors, expert social media professionals who’ll be on hand to help you get the most out of your social media activity in information-packed, ten-minute check ups.
Come back at the end of each day to let your hair down at lively networking receptions. Wednesday evening, it’s the CDS Global Circulator presented by CMC, and on Thursday, Magazines Canada presents MagNet Squared! Join MagNeteers from across all regions and sectors of the Canadian magazine media industry (and beyond!) for yummy hors d’oeuvres and tasty cocktails. Share your conference experiences, meet new friends and rub shoulders with some of the best in the business.
We’ll see you in MagNet Square!
MagNet’s keynote sessions feature successful and inspiring leaders in business and media, including MagNet Marquee speaker Jay Lauf, the president and publisher of Quartz, on digital revenue growth; Emmy-award-winner and 25-year media veteran Ryan Dohrn on ad sales success; and Sree Sreenivasan, chief digital office of the Met Museum, on social media strategy.
Fire up your mind for the day ahead by beginning your MagNet mornings with some forward-thinking on important issues. Two FREE plenary sessions about Public Policy and Cultural Diversity in the Workplace will kick off MagNet programming on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:45 am. The plenary sessions are relevant to anyone in a management role.
Join social media keynote speaker Sree Sreenivasan of @MetMuseum for a Sunrise Instagram Walk on Wednesday morning as he shares great tips for mobile photography and Instagram. It’s free to attend: bring your smartphone or camera and meet in the Courtyard Toronto Downtown lobby for a fun way to start your MagNet morning.
