Vortex’s color Profile Editor utilizes a 4D color engine with
algorithms developed by GMG.
The Profile Editor automatically compares printed press samples
to digital proof samples. The Vortex ColorProof software then ensures
that the output is within ± 1DE tolerance on each color swatch.
If you already have an investiment in ICC , those profiles can also
be used to simulate output.
Dotproof 
DotProof is an essential option for graphic art companies that need
to check the screening and color representation. The DotProof option
can generate contract-quality digital proofs with their original screening
in addition to normal continuous tone proofs. DotProof uses 1Bit-TIFF
files generated by the RIP of the imagesetter or output device, retaining
the contained screening information and transforming it into a perfect
simulation. Profiles can simultaneously color-correct the files to
reproduce the characteristics of the particular printing process in
the same way as the usual continuous tone proof.
With a perfect simulation of the actual printing, you can check
for possible moirés and trapping errors, as well as any printing
irregularities that can only be seen in the interaction of screening
and printing stock. Besides the output of halftone proofs, DotProof
enables you to de-screen 1Bit data, such as CopyDot files, and output
them as continuous tone proofs.
Vortex Color Proofing not only provides solutions for all aspects
of digital proofing; it also fully automates labor-intensive repetitive
processes. It has a scatterproof function to collect files for output,
publishes as many printers with different parameters on the network
as desired, and responds to different production situations according
to preset parameters with its extensive HotFolder functionality.

requests as changes in output size and number of copies. You can
create hot folders to automatically accommodate specific forms to
use paper most economically. As a result, you ensure seamless integration
into existing workflows, where jobs can either go directly into
hot folders or accept further manual instructions. . Vortex Color
Proofing can be integrated with the Vortex Workflow System to automatically
deliver proofs to your customers without operator intervention.

Running Windows 2000 or NT on an IBM Intellistation, Vortex Color
Proofing is a highly flexible solution that offers you a full range
of service options that support all commonly used network protocols
(AppleTalk, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBUI). Based on Harlequin Jaws RIP
Technology, Vortex Color Proofing can translate PostScript (Level
3), PDF or DCS2.0 files, and output TIFF, TIFF/IT, Scitex CT/LW and
JPEG. Each server can drive up to three output devices*.
